(+1) _____1. Are you posting all open jobs that you are eligible to post? Have you read the article about the best days to post your jobs?
(+1) _____2. Are you aware of the 10 ways that you can post jobs to our site, so you can make the best possible decision on which method your organization should use?
(+1) _____3. Are you using job titles in a way that will help your jobs be found on our partner sites, where they are often found by job title, and job titles and phrases in a way where they'll be noticed, stand out from competitors, and increase response?
(+1) _____4. Are you posting your jobs to the correct job categories and position type categories? This is extremely important, as it will affect your results. If you use a third party to post your jobs, make sure you check their work, as they can be notorious for not making the best possible choices here, and again, it will affect your results.
(+1) _____5. In a very competitive hiring universe, do you post your jobs in a way that will do a GREAT job of selling your opportunity and organization? Read your job postings like you were a job seeker. If you had lots of choices, and you read your posting, would it interest you enough for you to respond? Here's an awesome thread that deals with this issue. This is so important to your success. Please take the time to read it.
(+1) _____6. Do you proofread your job postings, to make sure they make sense? We had a client recently that said in the job title that the job was located in Orangeburg, SC, and yet that job was posted to many different locations. That's going to do nothing but confuse a job seeker, and they won't bother to respond.
(+1) _____7. Do you make sure that all of your jobs are sent out in Job Search Agents no less than every 30 days for added visibility? If you use a third party to post your jobs, make sure you and they know how to do this, as it's important to give you a kick start with your response. Any new or modified job posting is sent out in job search agents. A simple way to modify your jobs so they are sent out in Job Search Agents is simply to modify the expiration date of your job postings. If you use our job upload feature (Pipe Delimited or Excel format), use the JobUploadStatus field, and mark any jobs as "new" that you want sent out in Job Search Agents. If you use our Application Programming Interface, all jobs are sent out in Job Search Agents every 2 weeks automatically.
(+1) _____8. Do you make sure all of your postings contain the information necessary for us to be able to send them out to the 4,800+ partner sites that we cross post to? If not, it will cost you incredible branding, and incredible visibility for your job postings.
(+1) _____9. Have you taken our Absolutely Health Care University class, that will teach you the successful methodologies we've learned to optimize your results?
(+1) _____10. Do you have a contact name, and telephone contact information in your job postings? This increases that odds of getting responses, as many job seekers may have questions, or want to speak with a company representative. Just having an on line response form can be a big negative.
(+1) _____11. Do you take advantage of the free image video that we allow you to place in your postings? This really makes your postings and your organization stand out versus companies that don't take advantage of this. I recently read a study that companies received up to five times more applicants when adding a video to job postings, compared to traditional text-only postings. If you currently have a video for your company, send the URL to Ken Levinson at ken@healthjobsusa.com, and we will place it in your postings at no extra charge. If you do not have a video created for your company already, we have contracted with a company that can create it for you very inexpensively:
Their Cost
One Hundred Dollars For First Month
(1 fee for all of your postings, including production)
Two Hundred Dollars For Each Additional Month
(1 fee for all of your postings)
If Interested, Contact Ken Levinson
800-863-8314 or ken@healthjobsusa.com
(+1) _____12. Have you placed a facility picture and city picture into your postings? Right now, we allow one facility picture and one city picture to be affiliated with each company profile. This is particularly beneficial for any organization that has one or a few facilities. If you wish to add these pictures, call me (Ken Levinson) at 800-863-8314, and I'll help you to do it. Soon, we will allow you to place individual pictures (unlimited) into each of your job postings. This will be self service.
(+1 if you have done this or it's not applicable) _____13. If there's anything you think of that you feel should be added to this list, please let me know.
(+ 1 if you have done this or it's not applicable) _____14. If you don't know how to do any of these things, either take one of our classes or call Wendy at 866-761-4185 or Kathy at 800-334-2576 in Customer Support. If they can't answer a particular question, they will refer you to me.
Important Additional Information: Here are a couple of additional items, which are important to keep in mind when evaluating if your job postings on our site are working for you, as tracking responses from a network of 4,800+ sites is virtually impossible.
(+1 if you have read this) A) Interesting Study Regarding The Relationship Between Internet Job Boards & Corporate Web Sites:
(+1 if you have read this) B) A White Paper On The Inaccuracies Of Applicant Tracking: This is a very interesting white paper regarding the inaccuracies of applicant tracking. This is an ongoing discussion that I have with some of our clients that tell me "they are able to track where all of their applicants and hires come from". I know it is impossible to do this accurately, especially for a site like ours that puts our clients jobs all over the Internet. For those of you who believe that you are tracking applicants accurately, you might find this to be interesting reading, so I thought I'd share this with all of you.
Give yourself a point for each item with a (+1) in this blog post that you are doing and/or have completed. How many points out of a total possible score of 16 did you score?
