How Is Medical Mingle Different From Facebook

Facebook is a wonderful social network that allows anyone of age to join as long as they have an email address.

Medical Mingle is a professional social network for people working in the healthcare/medical field, servicing the healthcare/medical field, or studying to enter the healthcare field. Though we don't restrict our membership, this is our target audience. We also encourage our members to invite any adult family members and/or friends that they'd like to communicate with on our site.

I'm also on Facebook, and as a pure social network, Facebook offers lots of fun things that we don't, but we offer lots of things that Facebook doesn't. Facebook doesn't have forums and a general blog, and you can't learn about most members unless you become their friend first. They also don't offer all of the professional content that we do. Those are things that I REALLY like about our site by comparison. Facebook also doesn't offer the terrific contests that we do. For the advantages of each is why I like being on both sites.

I am also on Facebook. It has reunited me with family and friends along with some fun things to tinker with. A couple of items would be the bumper sticker, music, and the different fun groups option. Like for instance, I could not believe the 'I turn my pillow over for the cold side' group. LOL
But seriously, that is more for goofing around and acting silly, which I tend to do quite well, and this group is one I want to use for networking professionally. I would like to get to know more professional people in the nursing/medical/healthcare field. My contacts are limited to my family and nursing co-workers, besides my previous school contacts.
