Hi, I'm Jan. My husband is constantly talking about this site so I thought I'd check it out. I hope I'll meet some new people and make some online friends.

If it's not chocolate, it's almost not worth eating!
About Me
Unlike Andy, I'm on the north side of 50. Also my second marriage (and I got it right this time, too!). I was in telecommunications for almost 20 years, but have been unemployed the past 5. So, I took the state exam to get my teaching certificate and hope to be teaching elementary school in August.
No children from my first marriage; Andy's 2 are my step-children.
Music
I like all types of music except C&W. When I was MUCH younger, I thought I might major in music in college but switched to English lit. Also like oldies and classic rock.
Movies
Like musicals, Cool Hand Luke, Casablanca, GWTW, Mystic River, Mrs. Doubtfire. Sure there are others...
TV
Crime/legal dramas (Law & Order - original one only, Shark, The Closer, CSI - again only the original), American Idol, Biggest Loser, Dancing with the Stars.
Books
Legal/crime novels. I like James Patterson, Sue Grafton, Michael Connolly and Jonathan Kellerman.

I guess my smoking is a vice, too.

Virtues

A Bit About My Job
Right now I'm substitute teaching. It can be difficult walking into a classroom and not knowing names or what the class has been working on, but I find I really enjoy the kids in elementary school, which is why I decided to try teaching full-time.
