I've been involved with recruitment for about 30 years, so I feel I'm qualified to talk on this.

1. Make a list of everyone you know that's appropriate for our site, and you'd like to have join us.

2. Tell them about us, and tell them you'd love "for them to become a part of our family".  

3. Be enthusiastic. Enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm. 

4. Tell them what you like about us. 

5. Show us to them, and what you've done with us.

6. Get a commitment to join.

7. Help them to register. 

8. Help them to get involved. Once they get involved, they'll love us like you do, and they will repeat the process.

9. If they aren't going to join, get referrals, contact them, and repeat starting at step # 2. This is all about people telling people, telling people.
