It was Robin's (my wife) 50th Birthday last Saturday, and were were to spend the day with Dave Koz and other great artists at the Palm Beach Jazz Festival, which if you read my forum about it, got cancelled due to standing water and mud. Therefore, we re-grouped and had lunch with Robin's Mother, and then took her to the movies. Then we had a terrific dinner at The Addison in Boca Raton: http://www.theaddison.com/. I think we would have had more fun at the Jazz Festival, but we made it a fun day just the same. We're having a party for Robin on May 3rd for about 35 family members and local friends.

We're soon leaving for Robin's party. We have a bus load of people, and we're heading down to The Forge on Miami Beach: http://www.theforge.com/. Should be a great night.

So, my son-in-law's sbirthday is today and I am surprising him with a "jazz" cake. He is a jr high band director and he plays the saxophone, so I think he will like it. The cake will be round with layers, butttercream frosting, and since I am not good at cake decorating but very good at papercrafting, a collection of jazz instruments I am making out of cardstock. I also got him a new custom made baton, which is something he off-handedly asked for a few months ago. I am not a musician at all, but I think it is beautifully made. My daughter is waiting till the weekend to celebrate with him because of a big football game he has to help with tomorrow. It is the two local high schools and they have a terrific rivalry! They share the stadium, so there were twice as many season ticket holders as you would normally expect. All of the seats sold out yesterday and they started selling standing room only tickets...for a high school game! I think that will be a fun night! |
