To all the travel professionals out there and one's who would like to venture into the travel world, what are some things you look for in a company when you are researching a new position?
What would steer you to go someplace different than a place you originally may have thought you wanted to go? How much of your decision is pay centered? How much is benefit centered? What makes a recruiter someone you would work with again and again and refer people to? What are the main hot spots for places to travel for assignments? |

Eventually my wife and I would like to retire in NC........so that would be a consideration...short enough (13 weeks) so I could research the area (find a place to live, set it up and find a permanent job? etc.) That being said I need to get back into the VA (federal system to work on my retirement). I'm Married and have 2 special needs children...thery come first...regardless of how good the Job is...if my family suffers(for whatever reason) it's out! Myself at this point in time I would love to relocate...but I would need some help (especially with as dismal as the housing sector is right now) so benefits are a consideration a single person would not have to be worried about things like this. I guess my point is this; The components of a decsion like this (IMHO) is different for everyone....I answered this question because once everything is settled I might consider travelling but it would take a recruiter that is willing to listen to me and my needs......not someone who has only their agenda on their mind....but is willing to collaborate and realizes one size doesnot fit all.

Pay is definitely a big consideration for me. I have to be able to pay the rent as well as live. So if I go to work in Washington State, for example, I have to take the living situation there into consideration and ask for a pay rate accordingly, new grad or not.

I believe that referrals are the greatest form of marketing. I also believe, no, I know that many in the heathcare field are under paid (I watch how hard my wife and her peers work). So I want to present this offer to those of you who have relationships with physicians, office managers or social acquaintances to earn some money. I will pay $125.00 (lets make this worth your while I’ll double it) $250.00 for every provider who signs with our company. Not every office (many offices have multiple providers) every provider. No sales, just referrals. I'll handle the rest.

David, I may be speaking out of turn, but if you added to your software program, prescription assistance management, you could make even more money. I just recently lost my job after spending eight years providing prescription assistance to the uninsured. The software program we used was provided by a company that charged "x" number of dollars per month for each facility that used it. If the facility you worked with did not deal with the uninsured, but wanted to track its samples electronically instead, then that would be the usefulness of the program. Best to you, Brandi
