the best way to control pet dander and hair

My Fiance' has a house full of pets. The pet hair is unbelievable! Three cats and a dog. Short of getting rid of them, and Needles to say, she would probably get rid of me before the pets would go, what can be done to minimize the hair?

lol! It isn't that bad! Jeff has shaved the kitties and my pup. It has helped tremendously, but I would have to say the kitties look silly and Belle's first hair cut was definitely something to be desired! He even gave one of my cats a "fu man chu" !
