The ventricular system provides a pathway for the circulation of the cerebral spinal fluid throughout the central nervous system. It is composed of 4 fluid filled ventricles; the right and left, immediatley below is the third ventricle and the fourth ventricle is located anterior to the cerebellum and posterior to the pons.
