    I did it.....

I graduated last week with BSN from UMDNJ...soooo I thought I would share my experience with other healthcare professsionals.  Not sure anyone even reads on this site.  I survived septic shock and ARDS...so when I tell my patient I understand I truly do!  On a ventilator for a week, ICU for 2 weeks a total of 17 days in the hospital....While on ventilator I could hear what was going on even though I was heavily sedated, would come in and out of it...lovenox stings like a bitch....ABGs are horrific...ask patients if they have earaches when on a ventilator..  I had  bad earaches in both ears and it took a day  before someone realized I was in terrible pain...My NURSES and doctors where amazing!  I know what it is to be critically ill and how important it was to me to have people touch and talk to me...

    Dawn,

I presented your suggestion to our Project Manager at OneSite. She wrote back:

"I think it's a good idea (although some members may want the option to hide this information). I'll pass your suggestion along".

It was then relayed to OneSite's CEO, so we'll see what happens.

    Sincerely,

    Ken

Your suggestion is a good one. I'll mention it to OneSite, as we use their software platform.

Thanks so much Dawn. It is very important to remember that they are a person. That is one thing that I plan on never forgetting. Thanks again. Best of luck to you :)
